Come on over and meet the members of our family. There is Renny, Jack, Trinity, and Jill, these are the few that live
with us. We love each member of our family and we hope you enjoy reading about each one of them. We will have some updated pictures coming
soon, so keep an eye out for them!
Renny was sadly laid to rest July 5, 2008, and will be dearly missed.
Angela was given Renny when he was about 10 years old....we think, since we don't know his real age. He is the
most beautiful cat I have ever had. We do have to shave him in the summer time, otherwise his hair gets on everything we have. He is close
to 10-13 years old now, since we've had him for 8+ years now.
The lady Angela was living with when she was 19 got him from a friend that only wanted a "rent a cat". The lady Angela
was staying with had him for about 2 years, but she was more of a dog person so did not spend much time with Renny(as his nickname
became). He did not want to be touched when Angela first met him. In fact, he bit her really good the first day.
Angela loved cats though, and was bound determined to win him over and she did. Within about three weeks of living with the lady,
Renny started sleeping with Angela out of the blue. The owner told Angela she had never seen Renny take to someone like that, and
that when Angela moved, she could take him with her. So of course Angela did just that! He is a very good cat and we love him to
death.
Sadly on July 5, 2008 Renny was laid to rest at about 13 years of age. He was just a wonderful cat and we will miss him
so very much. He had the sweetest and most lovable personality we have ever seen in a cat. Renny will be dearly
missed by all how new him.
Jack came to us when we was about four months old. There was a young lady Angela worked with that was allergic to him, and needed
a place him in a good home. Angela, of course, took him in after one look. Though initially she was saying, "we'll see how it goes"
and if it works out then we'll keep him. But Ryan knew what she really meant.
Jack has the glossiest coat we have ever seen. He has been nothing short of funny the whole time that we have had him now. He will
do some of the dumbest things you could think of, and makes us laugh more times than we can count. Unlike 'most' cats, he will chase a
light around in circles unil he can't follow it anymore because he's too dizzy and can't even walk straight.
He will love on anyone that walks through our doors, and that is just his personality to act like everyone should pet him
and pamper him. Though we know there are more like him out there somewhere, we have not met any and definitely love him and will never
let him go.
Interestingly enough, after we had Jack for about six months, the young lady that gave him to us came over to see us and fell back
in love with him and his antics and wanted him back. Of course we told her no, you already gave him up.
Jack seems to be one of the smarter cats and seems to actually understand what we are saying to him. We can tell him "out" and he knows
he better leave where ever he currently is or he'll be in trouble. Funny thing is, he's just like a kid; he'll meow plaintifly as if to
say, "but why?", "do I have to?" or "But Mom!!".
This cat is the craziest cat we have ever had. We have no idea how old she is since she is a rescue cat. We think she's fairly young,
but know she was wild for a few years at least. Angela's sister came over one day and told Angela about Trinity, knowing that she would
take her in we're sure.
Apparently, Angela's sister's coworker (follow that?) had taken in this stray cat. She was skin and bones, but took the cat to get
the necessary shots and also had Trinity fixed and declawed the front pawes since the cat apparently was scratching up everything. This
lady had Trinity for around a year before she realized, she too was allergic to cats. So she decided to give her away. For months she
had tried, but no one wanted the cat. The lady ended up telling Angela's sister that if she couldn't find a home by the end of the week
she was going to have take her to the pound and put her to sleep.
Of course, Angela could believe that someone could do that, put a healthy cat to sleep just because she didn't want it anymore. So she
took the cat in. What a surprise for Trinity, she came to a new house, new surroundingd, new people, and two new cats all at once. She
acted fine for the first five minutes, then completely flipped out is the only way to describe it. We thought, "Oh my goodness, what have
we got ourselves into."
It took us 30 minutes to catch her and put her outside. She never left our yard, which was fenced at least, as if
she knew despite all of this that this is where home was now. She stayed outside for two or three weeks while she gradually warmed up to
us and Renny and Jack. That was over two years ago now, and is a great cat now. She tends to like being around Angela and I, but
sometimes does not like being around the other cats, as well as she doesn't like strangers touching her very much. Perhaps because she
thinks that they might be there to take her away again or something like that. But of course we would never let that happen. She is a
true joy, when she wants to be and is so funny to watch.
She is also a rescue, and when we first got her, we could hold her in our hands with no problem because she was still a very young
puppy. We of course don't know how old she really is either but we feel that it is safe to say that she was only about 6 to 8 weeks old
when she came to live with us. She is a good sized dog now, not some puny size, though we though she'd be pretty small, but we love her
anyway.
Ryan brought her home from work one night, and this is what he was told from the coworker that brought the puppy to work. The coworker
was at a gas station getting gas, when he saw a pickup truck pull up and a man started putting this small pup on the sidewalk. So the
coworker asked the man what he was doing, and he said that the dog was with him in the truck with the man's friend when the police
tried to pull them over. The friend started running for a while before finally pulling over. The driver friend was arrested, leaving the
man with his friend's dog (supposedly of course). He did not want the dog, so was putting her out where he hoped someone would find her
and take the puppy home.
So the coworker took the puppy and brought her to work to try and see if someone there might want the dog and take her home, instead of
leaving the puppy at the gas station which was right next to the highway. So that is how we got her and feel that we are blessed to have a
great dog. Although it has taken a lot of time to get her back in a car when we need to take her to the vet to get shots and all. Now she
seems to trust us enough and just hops into the car. She seems pretty smart too because in no time at all was doing anything we asked her
to do, with no other training. She loves our cats too, and doesn't even try to hurt them at all.
When we first brought her home, she was so tiny that Jack was bigger than her. He thought it was pretty fun to play with her and bowl
her over from time to time while playing. After several months the tables turned, for now Jill was bigger than Jack and she could bowl
him over now. Some reason, Jack didn't like that idea so much, but they still get along well. The way she got her name was from a story
we all now well, Jack and Jill went up the hill......and you know the rest!
Jill loves anyone and everything we bring home, she just wants to say hi and wags her tail so hard it might fall off. She's always
been eager to please and wants to love on us all the time. She also has a sense of what is our home and belongings, for she'll bark at
someone if they are strangers to yard and we are not with them. She's even growled some too ( you have to understand she rarely does
that) to tell someone they are not where they are supposed to be. So we can tell when somethings not normal, her bark is different than
when she's apparently "just talking" to the neighbor kids out back making noise. She is the best dog we have ever had.
Hope you all enjoyed readind about all of the members of our family. Sents Renny's passing we have added to our family
a new member that will be added shortly. He was a free kitten that needed a good home, and of course we got him from our
vet office back in Sept. Keep any eye out for info and pictures of this new little member.
